Privacy Policy

Perity exists because health data about women in midlife has historically been ignored, mishandled, or monetized. This policy is written to be read, not skimmed past. If anything here is unclear, email eiei@perity.app and you'll get an answer from the founder, not a form letter.

What Perity collects

Account information. Perity uses Sign in with Apple. You can hide your email address from us — Apple's private relay is fully supported. Perity asks for a nickname, not your legal name, and your date of birth (age matters clinically in perimenopause). That's it for identity.

Health data you log. Symptoms, medications and doses, cycle dates, lab readings you import, substance journal entries if you use that feature, and notes you choose to record. This is the entire point of the app, and it belongs to you.

Apple Health data you approve. If you connect Apple Health, Perity reads only the categories you approve — such as cycle history and medications — to save you retyping them. Reading is opt-in and revocable in iOS Settings at any time. Perity does not write to Apple Health unless you explicitly turn that on.

What Perity does not collect: no advertising identifiers, no location, no contacts, no analytics profiles built on your health data, no third-party trackers.

Where it lives

Your clinical data is stored as a FHIR health record — the same open standard hospitals use — in Google Cloud's healthcare infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest. It lives in the region you choose during onboarding: the United States for US residents, the United Kingdom (London) for UK residents, or the European Union (Netherlands) for residents of Spain and other EU countries. Your health record is stored and processed only in your region, and it stays there. If you move countries, changing region is handled by a person — email privacy@perity.app and we'll sort it out with you.

Account and app-settings data is stored in Google Firebase. The app itself never holds infrastructure credentials; every access goes through authenticated, audited services.

Reminders are generated on your phone. They never pass through a server.

Who can see it

You. Your data is keyed to your account, not your name. The founder cannot casually browse identified health records, and there is no dashboard where anyone reads your symptoms. Access to production data is limited to what is technically required to run the service, and nothing more.

What we will never do

Service providers

Perity runs on Apple (sign-in, the App Store, Apple Health on your device) and Google Cloud / Firebase (storage and authentication). These providers process data to run the infrastructure — they do not get to use your health data for their own purposes.

Your data rights: export and deletion

Export. Settings → “Export my data” gives you a complete, machine-readable copy of everything Perity stores about you — your full health record as a FHIR bundle, plus your profile — delivered to you and only you, on your device. Unlike the appointment summary you might hand a doctor, your own export holds the entire record, including anything you've chosen to keep out of shared summaries.

Deletion. Settings → “Delete account & data” permanently erases your entire record — every health entry, your profile, and your sign-in — immediately and irreversibly. No copy is kept. Deletion is real deletion, not a soft hide. If you'd rather not do it in the app, email privacy@perity.app from the address linked to your account and your records will be deleted within 30 days.

Children

Perity is built for adults navigating perimenopause and hormone changes and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes in any way that matters, the app will tell you plainly before the change applies — no silent edits with a new date at the top.
